The team that helps the Eddie Pope Foundation run is comprised of several talented and hardworking players. They include our staff, program liaisons, volunteers, and various boards.

As executive director for The Eddie Pope Foundation, Inc. Karen has seen amazing things happen. In 1998 Karen accepted the challenge of making a new non-profit foundation an organization of impact and influence. Created by her younger brother, the Eddie Pope Foundation, had a set of admirable goals and obtainable objectives but it needed someone to begin to organize and make things happen. With the help of some amazing people as well as the Pope family things have begun to happen.

Karen is a licensed attorney in both North Carolina and South Carolina. She graduated from law school in 1996 with dreams of being the voice for abused children. While she still plans to make this dream a reality, she is currently devoting her time to making the Eddie Pope Foundation, Inc. a voice for so many underserved children. Currently living in Northern Va., Karen enjoys friends and family; the theatre; traveling; cooking (she also plans to own her own restaurant someday); and of course attending DC United soccer games. When asked if the slight detour in career plans is worth it, she will tell you “most definitely”.
